Steam spending on games that were never launched was $19 billion
According to a new study conducted in the USA, Steam users have never played, although they have purchased approximately 19 billion dollars worth of games and additional packages. Researchers examining public Steam profiles evaluated games that 73 million accounts had never played.
It was stated that the calculation for 73 million users was around 1.9 billion dollars. This figure represents only approximately 10 percent of total Steam users. In other words, as a result of the estimation made taking into account special profiles, the cost of games that have never been played may be 19 billion dollars.
Finally! Steam Summer Sale begins
Steam Summer Sale, which players have been waiting for a while, is finally starting. Here is the expected date...
It was noted that many users own a large number of RPG or open world games. It was reported that the list of productions that have never been opened has expanded due to these productions. Games such as The Witcher 3, GTA 4 or Elden Ring seem to remain unplayed after being purchased, especially during discount periods.
Some users who made statements about the research made humorous approaches. Accordingly, they said that they could collect 19 billion dollars from players and have Valve make Half-Life 3.
On the other hand, Steam Summer Sale 2024, which the gaming world is eagerly waiting for, starts on June 27 at 20:00 CET. These discount days will continue until July 11. Discounts, which are especially important for players in Turkey, are becoming more attractive due to the recent removal of TL from the platform and the increase in game prices.
