Sony Improves DualSense Audio and Screen Sharing with PS5 Update

Sony's new PS5 update offers a more interactive experience by improving the audio and microphone capabilities of the DualSense controller, as well as adding pointer and emoji reactions to the Screen Sharing feature.

Sony offers a new update for PlayStation 5 users. This update improves audio and microphone performance on DualSense controllers, while adding pointers and emoji reactions to the Screen Sharing feature. Additionally, the ability to adjust the brightness of the PS5 power indicator is also introduced.

This update was first released to test users last month and has started to be distributed to all PS5 owners worldwide as of today. The firmware of DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers has been updated, improving the output volume of in-game sounds and voice chat.

Additionally, the microphones on both controllers are updated to reduce background noise thanks to a new machine learning model.

The Screen Sharing feature is being improved by adding pointers and emoji reactions for users to highlight areas or objects on a shared screen. Viewers will also be able to send emoji reactions to the host of the screen share. Additionally, within the scope of the update, PS5 owners are offered the option to adjust the brightness of the power indicator. This feature, which can be chosen from three new options, provides PS5 users with more personalization opportunities.

This update also affects the PlayStation mobile application. With an update coming towards the end of this month, iOS and Android users will be able to use new Screen Sharing interactions.
