Baldur's Gate 3 Limits Mods to 100 on Consoles

However, Larian Studios has announced a mod limit for the console version of the game, capping it at 100 mods. The decision stems from the technical limitations of consoles, which can only handle a limited number of files at once. Players who exceed this cap may experience slow loading times or game crashes. Larian encourages players to stick to the essential mods to maintain performance. If more than 100 mods are installed, players will need to disable some to continue playing the game.

" Unlike PCs, consoles can only use a certain number of files at a time . Some of you have reported slow loading times and even crashes due to playing with over 100 mods. We recommend that you only download mods that you will definitely continue to play, and we are imposing a 100-mod download limit on consoles ."
After this edit, if your save has more than 100 mods, you will be notified that you will not be able to play the game "for now" . Some mods will need to be disabled to continue playing the game.
