Musk Slams Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Musk joined the online criticism of Assassin’s Creed Shadows after gaming veteran Mark Kern heavily criticized Ubisoft’s marketing approach. Responding to a post featuring streamer Hasan Piker’s sponsored gameplay, Musk labeled Piker a “fraud”, implying he was only promoting the game for money.

Musk later softened his words, saying, “For sale” would be a more accurate description, but the damage was done—Ubisoft fired back swiftly.

Ubisoft’s Savage Comeback

The official Assassin’s Creed X (formerly Twitter) account responded:

“Did the person playing your Path of Exile 2 account tell you that?”

This was a direct jab at Musk’s account-sharing controversy in Path of Exile 2 and Diablo IV. Musk had previously boasted about being a top-ranked player, but it was later revealed that multiple people had access to his accounts, violating game terms of service. Musk eventually admitted to the breach.

Despite Backlash, Assassin’s Creed Shadows Thrives

While Musk’s criticism gained attention, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is proving to be a massive success:
