Warner Bros. Will Focus on Live Service Games
At a speaking event hosted by Morgan Stanley, Warner Bros. He stated that he is preparing to launch more live services, mobile and free-to-play games. Warner Bros. will focus on live service games. Here are the details!
Warner Bros. Will Increase the Number of Live Service Games
Warner Bros. Discovery Executive JB Perrette said the following about the company's future strategy: "We are uniquely positioned as both a publisher and game developer, focusing on games as an area where we think there is much more opportunity for growth with some of the talent at the studio."
“Instead of releasing a one-off console game, it makes more sense to develop a live service game around Hogwarts Legacy or Harry Potter, for example, where people can live, work, build and play in this world on an ongoing basis.”
Considering that Hogwarts Legacy is the best-selling game of 2023 and that a game has dethroned Call of Duty or Rockstar games for the first time in more than 15 years, this change in strategy seems a bit risky. Hogwarts Legacy has sold 22 million copies by the end of 2023. Isn't this a great achievement?
Finally, in late 2023 , Insider Gaming reported that Warner Bros. was currently developing a Harry Potter game called 'Quidditch Champions'. The game attracts attention with its similarity to the popular production Rocket League and offers fluent and fast-paced gameplay. It has not been officially announced yet.
