Tencent is Developing Games Similar to Palworld for Mobile Devices
Tencent's development of two mobile games that will clone the success of Palworld can be seen as an indicator of the popularity of the "Pokémon with guns" genre.
The “Pokémon with weapons” concept is gaining more and more popularity, and Tencent is joining the companies that want to follow this trend . Inspired by the success of the game Palworld , Tencent is reportedly developing two Palworld clones for mobile devices.
Created by developer Pocketpair, Palworld has been a huge success, becoming one of the most played games on Steam. Played by more than two million players, this game has a strong community, reaching up to 85,000 players so far. This success attracted the attention of other developers and attracted the attention of Tencent as well.
As reported by Bloomberg, Tencent-owned TiMi and Lightspeed studios are working on mobile games similar to Palworld. As a studio that has achieved great success such as Call of Duty Mobile, TiMi is looking for Unreal Engine programmers, 3D artists and combat designers for its new game. On the other hand, Lightspeed is diverting developers from their other projects to work on a Palworld-like game.
This move by Tencent aims to emulate Palworld's success and increase growth. It is thought that both studios will increase their quality due to internal competition. Tencent has previously used this strategy in games such as Honor of Kings and Peacekeeper.
It is not yet known when Tencent will announce or release these Palworld-like games. However, at a time when interest in Pokemon-themed games is increasing, it is not surprising that Tencent wants to join this trend.
