GSC Game World’s fantastic release

GSC Game World’s fantastic release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has disappointed players with its performance. Even those with high-end systems faced crashes and other issues. If you have also experienced crashes or performance problems with STALKER 2, there’s no need to search for solutions; most issues will be resolved with a patch scheduled to release next week.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl PC system requirements revealed

STALKER 2 issues to be fixed with the patch

The update will focus on fixing critical crashes related to memory allocation errors. Issues encountered during main quest progression, cutscenes, graphics problems, and strange behavior in the user interface will also be addressed. The developer has pointed out the following issues that will be fixed with the patch coming next week:

  • Crash fixes: Problems causing unexpected game crashes and memory allocation errors, especially during processing and cutscenes related to quests.
  • Main quest progression fixes: Several errors preventing main quest progression, NPCs getting stuck on objects, incorrect quest markers, and issues with quest cutscenes. Revisions to ensure smooth transitions in main quests.
  • Gameplay and balance adjustments: Fixing the price of upgraded stuck weapons compared to their value without attachments. NPC behavior adjustments.
  • Cutscene and visual fixes: Correction of errors in facial animations and NPCs. Quality and stability improvements for visual effects.
  • Softlock fixes: Issue where the swap screen doesn’t close after placing ammo in the wrong slot while playing with a controller.
  • User interface improvements: Quest notifications during dialogues now displayed correctly.
  • Corrected texts and missing interaction prompts.

GSC Game World has stated that issues surrounding the A-Life simulation system will be addressed in a later update. The studio will release a roadmap in December for those curious about new content coming in 2025.
