Sega Crazy Taxi remake will be open world

Sega announced that the Crazy Taxi remake is being prepared as an open-world massively multiplayer game, aiming to bring a new spirit to the series.

Sega is not indifferent to the recent remastered or remake game trend. One of the company's most successful games, Crazy Taxi, will be re-released with a different approach.

Sega has decided to develop its popular taxi game into a massively multiplayer open world. The company aims to create an entertaining game by adding MMO elements without spoiling the atmosphere of the original series.

The short video shared by producer Kenji Kanno includes sections of multiple taxis racing with police cars. Since it is labeled AAA, it is estimated that Sega has allocated significant resources to the new project.

Aside from Crazy Taxi, Sega has also reportedly been re-releasing Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi and Streets of Rage. However, there is no word yet on the Seaman fishing sim.
