Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Sales Hit Rock Bottom
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, which was added to the Xbox Game Pass library the day it was released, has seen its sales plummet.
First announced in 2018, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 made its official debut on May 21 after years of anticipation. Developed by Ninja Theory under the Xbox umbrella, the sequel is a fairly short game that offers a gripping, effective story blended with dazzling visuals.
Indeed, it received high reviews when it was released. It currently sits at a score of 80 on Metacritic, which isn’t bad at all. Hellblade 2 , considered one of the most visually advanced games ever made, unfortunately didn’t translate its prowess into sales as well, as the latest sales figures showed that the game performed very poorly in May 2024.
Hellblade 2 Misses Top 100 in European Sales
According to US sales data released by Circana, Hellblade 2 ranked 37th in May. It ranked 21st on Xbox, falling behind Fallout 76 in terms of player count, with a maximum of 3,892 concurrent players on Steam. Furthermore, it didn’t even crack the top 100 games on European sales charts in May, according to GamesIndustry.biz .

Hellblade 2 peaked at 110,193 viewers on Twitch on launch day, but that number dropped by 90 percent on its second day on the market, with just 900 users signing up the following week. It's not a flash in the pan, of course, but it's a short-lived, short-form game that only offers a few hours of fun, and once you're done, you're probably not going back.
On the other hand, what is important for Microsoft is how many new subscribers Hellblade 2 can bring to Game Pass . As is known, the game was added to the subscription service's library as soon as it was released. The action-adventure game, which has a sales price of $50 on Steam, does not have any boxed version. If you have an active Game Pass membership on PC or console, you can experience Hellblade 2 for free.
